Education -- Example

We discussed a need for reforming our educational system. A segment on All things considered discussed an alternative High School.

The reason that I bring this up is because:

The kids are assigned a home-room class which is a full period class that runs for the full four years in the school.

The home-room class (HR class) is designed to show a sense of community,

One of the things it does is to TRY and teach some of what we've LOST because of poor parenting skills and "park the kid in front of the babysitter/TV" syndrome.

Essentially the story shows how you CAN teach kids
ethics
how NOT to let themselves become "a victim"
how to get stuff DONE.

and a lot of other things we need to teach, since we've all failed as a society because of the rampage of the past 20-30 years.

And, yes, I am guilty too....
